Contracted Embedded Systems Design Team
Executive Summary
Sonexos is seeking to engage an experienced embedded systems development partner to lead the design and delivery of a high-performance embedded platform for synchronized audio measurement and real-time DSP processing. This platform will be deployed within a Tier One customer environment and must meet rigorous standards for precision, reliability, and integration flexibility.
This is a contracted B2B engagement and not an employment opportunity. The selected partner will be responsible for end-to-end hardware and low-level software development aligned to a detailed specification provided by Sonexos, under NDA.
Scope of Work
The embedded platform is defined by a detailed technical specification and includes the following responsibilities:
Hardware Development
- Zynq 7100-based custom board design and integration
- Peripheral integration (USB 2.0, Ethernet, A2B, CAN FD, I3C, analog audio interfaces)
- Power management for automotive and portable operation, including battery regulation
- Touch panel integration via eDP
- Software and Firmware Development
- FreeRTOS on ARM Cortex-A9 cores
- Low-latency DSP task coordination with (optional) HiFi5 DSP cores
- Custom audio routing and synchronization using programmable logic (ADSE)
- Configuration and diagnostic interfaces (Ethernet, USB, UART, JSON-based schemas)
System Integration & Testing
- Validation of synchronized multi-channel I/O
- Support for deterministic DSP streaming and real-time test & measurement
- Deployment of test scripts and measurement modes in line with automotive standards
Required Expertise
- Proven experience with AMD/Xilinx Zynq SoCs, especially Zynq 7000 series
- Advanced knowledge of embedded audio and real-time DSP systems
- Familiarity with A2B and CAN FD networks, automotive-grade interface design
- Strong grasp of FreeRTOS, programmable logic, and multi-domain clock synchronization
- Demonstrated ability to design for automotive environments (vibration, EMI, power stability)
- Previous engagements in automotive, audio, or precision measurement applications
Engagement Details
- Start Date: Q3 2025
- Location: Remote, with optional on-site integration phases (Europe/Asia-partners preferred)
- Duration: ~12 months, with possible extension
- Commercial Terms: Negotiable, milestone-based
- Confidentiality: NDA required prior to disclosure of full specification
- Deliverables: Hardware schematics + layouts, firmware, test validation reports, and build documentation
